Get to know them

Originally from the Netherlands and Belgium, Jesse and Katrien Roobol-Verschraegen are the parents of two beautiful children: Hannah Joy and Judah Josiah. Jesse had a career as a Process Planner in a Dutch newspaper company, while Katrien worked as a nurse and training coordinator for the Salvation Army. In 2017, they made the decision to obey God’s call to serve Him full-time.

Prioritizing thorough preparation, both Jesse and Katrien completed their Bachelor’s degrees in Intercultural and Biblical Studies at All Nations Christian College in the UK. During a vision trip (ServeAsia trip) with OMF in Thailand in August/September 2019, God revealed to them the spiritual need in the region. They focused on Central and Southern Thailand, where religion and the royal family play crucial roles in society. With more than 94 percent of the Thai people practicing Theravada Buddhism, their mission is to make Jesus Christ known in this context, seeking restoration in people and witnessing God’s work through the lives of individuals in Southern Thailand.

Their ministry

The Roobol family arrived in July 2023 in Thailand and is currently fully immersed in cultural integration and language learning. In 2024 they will relocate to Southern Thailand, where 95,% of the people have never heard about Jesus and 95% of the cities and villages have no church. Their goal is to engage with the community and contribute to the establishment of a local church in this spiritually significant region.
